I’m a huge Mollie Makes fan, as well as a huge brooch collector (as many of you know). When I got issue 23 I knew just what I had to turn the Fox, Raccoon, & Heart into…brooches of course! Here’s the tutorial on how I did it. I hope you like it! If you have any questions feel free to ask! xo
Step by step instructions above.
-Felt (I prefer wool felt or wool blend felt)
-Knitting Needle &/or Chopstick (for stuffing with polyfil)
-Needle (embroidery works best)
-Embroidery Floss (I use/used two strands on this project)
-Needle Heaven (Not necessary but HIGHLY recommended)
-Brooch Back. (What ever style you prefer)
For the Raccoon: Do the same as with the fox. Except stitch nose on after the mask piece then add details as done with the fox & finish off the same way.
For the Heart: Just simply cut out one piece with pattern and another square piece. Piece together like in pictures P-W. You can embroider on a letter or design if you would like before you stitch the heart to the felt square.
Please, as always, keep in mind of copyright laws (including Mollie Makes own copyrights per pattern) & be respectful of them. Again this pattern was originally from Mollie Makes issue 23. I just “tweaked” the pattern & turned it into brooches. Feel free to make for yourself or as a gift! Happy stitching! <3
